Job Summary:

Central City Health is committed to enabling every patient in our community to thrive by building a collaborative multidisciplinary healthcare team. The Medical Assistant (MA) is required to perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities in a manner that emphasizes quality care and customer service. The MA works collaboratively with clinical and support staff in the provision of direct patient services, exhibiting flexibility and a “can-do” attitude. The Medical Assistant serves as a point of contact for other internal and external providers, with the goal of fostering an environment that promotes patient comfort, trust, and team-based care. The MA must exemplify the core values and mission of the organization, always exercising the utmost discretion, diplomacy and tact in patient/staff interactions.

Responsibilities:

Ensures all actions, represent the organization in a highly professional manner.
Prepares for patient appointments by reviewing and updating patient records
Maintains exam rooms according to protocol
Monitors stock inventory and reports low stock to the Clinical Care Manager
Triages patients effectively within fifteen minutes of registration time
Assist patients in obtaining supportive services
Completes thorough and accurate MA assessments
Reviews patients’ Care Registry for due or overdue screenings
Maintains compliance with productivity requirements
Assists provider upon request during examinations

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or GED required.
Graduate of a Medical Assistant program required.
Medical Assistant certification preferred.
Cardiopulmonary and Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification required.
Must possess knowledge of the healthcare field including medical terminology.
Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center preferred.
Familiarity with medical laboratories and Michigan Care Improvement Registry (MCIR).
Knowledge of PCMH preferred.
Must be able to work cooperatively with staff.
Must maintain confidentiality relating to treatment in accordance with HIPAA.
